DARDAN

Project DARDAN Industrial robotics

Robotics for
demanding ground.

Developing methane-inspection robotics for the heat, dust and distances of industrial fieldwork.

The platform

One platform.
Purposeful systems.

The ALPHA concept brings mobility, inspection sensing and modular tooling onto one serviceable platform. Explore the proposed architecture.

Inspection sensing

Find the signal.
Keep the context.

The sensing architecture is intended to pair methane measurements with visual, thermal and location data so each finding can be reviewed in its site context.

Development focus: sensor selection, integration and calibration.

Intended applications

Closer to the asset.
Clearer about the task.

The first use case is focused: bring repeatable methane inspection to oil and gas facilities, starting with the realities of Libya.

Oil & gas facilities

Methane inspection at equipment level

Planned inspection routes around valves, pipework and process equipment, combining methane sensing with a visual record for an operator to review. Initial field work would use a verified non-hazardous route.

First application focus

Harsh & remote sites

Design around the working environment

Heat, dust, uneven ground and long travel distances shape the thermal, mobility and serviceability programme. These conditions must be tested together on the complete machine.

Environmental qualification target

Environmental sampling

A platform for inspection and sampling

The arm, tool interfaces and sample cassette form part of the proposed architecture. Physical handling, containment and operator procedures remain part of the validation work.

Development programme

From digital definition
to evidence in the field.

Progress depends on what the complete system can demonstrate. The programme follows a staged path from engineering definition to a site-specific pilot.

  1. 01

    Current foundation

    Digital definition

System architecture, engineering documentation and the current visual concept establish the development baseline.

  2. 02

    Next development stage

    Build & integrate

Supplier confirmation, prototype assembly and integration of sensing, power, mobility and controls.

  3. 03

    Validation ahead

    Test the whole machine

Thermal behaviour, safe motion, dust exposure, mobility and mission endurance require physical evidence.

  4. 04

    Proposed field stage

    A defined Libya pilot

Agree a site, inspection scope and acceptance criteria with an operating partner before field evaluation.

Libya first.
International ambition.

The founder’s intended first pilot is with Waha Oil in Libya. It remains a proposal, with no selected site or completed pilot. Future international applications would build on evidence from development and field validation.
